An Intrinsic Adrenergic Vasodilator Mechanism in the Coronary Vascular Bed of the Dog.

چکیده
• Considerable evidence indicates that an adrenergic vasoconstrictor mechanism exists in the coronary vascular bed. In the classification advanced by Ahlquist,' the sites mediating this response are termed alpha receptors. Whether or not an adrenergic dilator mechanism exists also in the coronary vessels remains controversial, since it is unclear whether the decrease of coronary resistance that occurs during adrenergic stimulation of the myocardium represents a direct effect of cathecholamines on the vessels'" or is a consequence of the increased myocardial activity. The present study was undertaken to examine the reaction of the coronary vessels to isoproterenol, an agent known to effect vasodilatation in other vascular beds by stimulation of so-called beta receptors. The effects of isoproterenol were studied first in the beating canine heart; then, in order to eliminate its stimulating action on the myocardium, its effects were also studied in the isolated perfused canine heart arrested with potassium. The findings indicate that the coronary vessels of the dog do contain an intrinsic adrenergic dilator mechanism.

متن کاملEffects and mechanism of action of aminophylline on cardiac function and regional blood flow distribution in conscious dogs.
The effects of aminophylline, 1 mg/kg/min infused intravenously for 10 minutes, were examined on left ventricular (LV) diameter, pressure, an indexes of myocardial contractility, as well as systemic, coronary and regional hemodynamics in conscious dogs. Aminophylline increased mean arterial pressure 12 +/- 2%, LV systolic pressure 8 +/- 1%, LV dP/dt 20 +/- 2%, velocity of myocardial fiber short...
متن کاملAdrenergic receptor activity in the coronary arteries of the unanesthetized dog.
Both a(vasoconstrictor) and (3(vasodilator) receptor activity was demonstrated in the coronary arteries of the unanesthetized dog independent of adrenergic receptors in the myocardium. In the y3-receptor blocked animal, a-adrenergic receptor activity was demonstrated after intravenous and intracoronary injections of epinephrine and norepinephrine by the occurrence of coronary vasoconstriction w...
متن کاملEffect of complete bed rest duration on vascular complication after angiography in hospitalized patients in post angiography units in health centers in Rasht
Introduction: Coronary artery angiography is an important diagnostic method in patients with ‎coronary disease which like other diagnostic methods has side effects. The important ‎complication of it is vascular side effects (hematoma and bleeding) in place of sheet insertion. ‎In order to control it, one must be in complete bed rest (CBR) and in no reference an exact ‎time is me...
